About Jennifer Andrew

Heaven and Earth Heaven and Earth is a continuation of the saga of the Three Sisters Island trilogy. The story is no longer concentrated on Nell from the first book, Dance Upon the Air, but on a woman that Nell met on the island, Ripley. She is the local law enforcement officer who works along side her brother, Zack. She has given up on love and has concentrated all her efforts on taking care of the town folk on the island. She doesn't think any man is good enough for her and, according to Ripley, she doesn't have time for a relationship.

Well, you know what always happens when a woman thinks along those lines! Fate has a way of playing against you on that decision. The island gets a visit from a paranormal researcher named MacAllister Booke who is on the island to investigate all the strange things that have been happening there lately. He rents a cottage for a few months and while taking a break from his research, he bumps into Ripley at the gym and they immediately butt heads with each other. Even though his personality is rather geeky, he is very smart, he has a great body and he loves to keep it in shape. No matter how nice he tries to be with her, she can't stand the fact that he is on the island to research the strange history and past occurrences of the island. Needless to say that they both get off on the wrong foot.

Heaven and Earth is centered on Ripley and her refusal to accept her special gift. Stubborn from the beginning, she fights all the urges to use her powers until she has no choice. All women play a part in the story because all three women have a personal battle to overcome in order to be strong for the conclusion. The island has a history. One that is being played again and if they are not ready, they stand to lose everything.

Mac practically gets everyone involved with his research because they become so fascinated by his findings. Also because he is starting to realize what the connection is between Ripley and the other two women in the story, Nell and Mia. This character seems to bring everyone together and as the story develops you really get to enjoy all the different personalities. From the first book, you warm up to the main characters and in the continuation you really begin to understand them more and laugh at their mishaps.

I really enjoyed this story. It was funny to read how the relationship between two stubborn people can develop. What I liked about Heaven and Earth was that the author was able to incorporate a new story within the continuous story of the trilogy.
