About Jennifer Andrew

A Knight of the Word Terry Brooks continues the tale about good versus evil - the Void versus the Word. As there is a Knight of the Word, a good and devoted savior there is also a dark and evil demonic follower of the Void. This story is the tale of John Ross and how he came to be a Knight whose duty is to save the world from a living hell and ensure a good future for all humanity.

For decades, he has faithfully performed his duties and without question and doubt, has travelled from town to town following his nightmares and visions all for the sole purpose of stopping the growth of evil. When something terrible happens in his life, he forsakes the duty of the Knight of the Word and goes about trying to live a normal life. Unfortunately, a fallen knight is tempting to the Void and an evil presence is sent to make sure he continues to fall into the depths of darkness so that he never returns to the light of good.

John Ross travels to Seattle to make a home for himself. Plagued with guilt and nightmares, he tries to live a normal life like he has always dreamed about and envied. Unfortunately, that isn't a decision that a Knight of the Word can make.

This story takes place five years after the meeting with Nest Freemark and John Ross. When she finds out that he is in trouble, she sets out to find him in the attempts to restore his faith in the Word. If she is unsuccessful, his life and humanity will be in danger.

This second book was as good as the first one. I like the concept of Nest Freemark playing the role of savior for the character John Ross. After he helped her in the first book, she comes back to return the favor and try to help him see his way. Her magic has grown and developed since the last book and the reader gets to see how she uses her power. The Feeders are still roaming the land, using their evil influences to create havoc and mischief but they are not her only problem. With John Ross temporarily out of the picture, a new and more evil creature has come to be.
