Young and old alike can’t fail to be thrilled with
J.K.’s fourth Potter adventure.
Harry, Hermione, Ron and the gang are back for their
fourth year at Hogwarts, in this fourth of J.K.
Rowling’s seven part Harry Potter series. Nearly
double the size of the previous three books, Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is the pivotal hub
around which the whole series spins.
Darker and deeper than its predecessors, this episode
speeds towards its stunning climax
faster than the Hogwarts Express.
Rescued from his muggle relatives by his friends the
Weasleys, Harry spends the remainder of his summer
vacation at the wizarding world’s equivalent to the
muggle football World Cup, the International Quidditch
Cup, where events lead Harry to be reminded that the
dark forces of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named are never far
away.
The regular cast of characters, are joined by some
new, as, back at Hogwarts, everyone eagerly
anticipates a mysterious competition that has not
taken place for a hundred years, and is due to take
place at the school later in the term, and will
involve two other rival schools of magic. A
competition that will climax spectacularly, and bring
tragedy as well as happiness to the victor.
The finish of the fourth book will leave you clamoring
for the much-awaited fifth episode due out early 2003.
To adults that grew up with the Chronicles of Narnia,
don’t be afraid – pick up a Harry Potter book, and
you’ll be hooked. Age is no barrier to enjoying a
fantastic adventure.
