About the book reviewer

Kit Thomas

Kit is currently studying for an MA in Local and Regional History, and specialises in the Medieval Period (tho' she enjoys fiction about any period). This is Anya Seton's fault as until she read 'Katherine' she was a perfectly normal Environmental Science graduate. She is hoping to continue next year to PhD if she can raise the fees. She owns her own pre-schooler so gets through mountains of childrens' books and has even written several herself tho' she has not managed to get them published yet. Apart from that she’s 39, female, and lives in the UK. She’s not sure if that has any relevance but many people seem to think 'Kit' is a bloke's name.

Kit reads constantly for her research in history but likes to space it out with fiction whenever possible and confesses to being someone who will, like some of the other reviewers, read product labels and foreign language dictionaries if nothing else is available.

Her favourite books of all time would have to include Anya Seton's 'Katherine' which left her with an unrequitable John of Gaunt fixation, Raymond E. Feist's 'Magician' for its depth of realisation and sheer ambition and anything by Anne McCaffrey or Terry Pratchett whose worlds she holidays in when she needs brain candy. A closet Trekkie, space-opera and pulp sci-fi fill up the space left by reality when it baled out.
