About the book reviewer

Jennifer Muzinic

You don't really want to know about ME, do you? Or maybe you do. After all, you are a reader, so a good story goes a long way...

Jennifer Muzinic. Dog Trainer. Reader. Writer. Misfit.

I grew, like a weed, in some Po-Dunk suburb of Chicago, soaking up laughter, sunlight and rain drops when I could, and getting my fair share of stompings in between. My good pal Ernie Hemingway used to say that Oak Lawn, IL was a place of "wide lawns and narrow minds" and I'm fairly certain that over the next fifty or so years, those narrow minds migrated further south and further west, until they hit my neighborhood. And stopped. And waited. I escaped through books (I'd mastered the art of reading & walking at the same time when I was 8), and now, years later, I continue to read with the intent to become completely immersed in a new mindframe.

In between, I've worked in advertising, become a certified dog trainer, learned to work a six horse circus act, was a cocktail waitress at a strip club that featured male & female dancers (on different nights), written stories, poems & started many novels (none of which I've gotten off my lazy butt to submit, however), lived with a Playboy bunny, adopted a diabetic cat, went to the Grammys, raised a tiger cub, attended a Camel Conference (I SWEAR!), loved & lost--all your typical, boring, everyday life type stuff.

IT IS MY FIRM BELIEF THAT BOOKS HAVE CAUSED MY LIFE TO TURN OUT EXACTLY AS IT HAS. Those books, those characters, all that knowledge, mysticism, love for life, adventure, feeling, MEANING--It seeps into your bloodstream, your heart, your very soul. Those great authors haunt my dreams, act as guides (muses?) and get me into a heck of a lot of trouble. I love every minute of it.

You have GOT to come on this ride with me--start slow if you have to--and relive each of these books, thought for thought, adventure for adventure, meditations, carpet rides, talking animals, heartbreaks, reality & all. I can't guarantee that you'll come out completely sane, but I promise you this--I'll hold your hand the whole way...
