About Sarita Mehra
They say people do some strange things when they imbibe a little, and this
book is living proof. Comedian and author, Tony Hawks (not to be confused
with pro-skater and video game icon Tony Hawk) embarks on a journey that
showcases the wonderful people of Ireland.
Tony finds himself having to hitchhike around Ireland with a cube fridge. He
has no money, and must make it around the circumference of the Isle within
one calendar month.
What looks like an impossible feat, turns into an endearing tale of
acceptance and misadventure as Tony takes his fridge surfing and witnesses
his fridge being accepted into the heart’s of Ireland’s finest.
There are a few photo plates in the book, and it’s an easy read. I plan to
go around Ireland visiting the locations he went to one of these days,
although, I won’t be taking a fridge with me.
Wonderfully written, “Round Ireland with a Fridge” is a humourous insight
into what can be done against all odds, and to be careful what you agree to
the next time you’re sharing a few beers with your mates!
